Bethon Foundation
Bethon Foundation began operations on January 2, 2019 out of the need to have a support unit for those Jamaicans who are diagnosed with cancer.

The founders Neville Coke and Bethune Webb-Coke saw the need as many Jamaicans living with a cancer diagnosis have little or no support as where to look for information other than their doctors or the internet. Mrs Webb-Coke an Ovarian cancer survivor can attest to the need for more support and information that has proven very difficult to source.

Dr. Veronica Taylor is a Haematologist /Oncologist and have been practicing in Jamaica since 2002, she is a Director and Medical advisor of Bethon Foundation, Dr. Taylor ensures the information put on pamphlets and other educational materials are accurate for the unit
Since 2019, Bethon Foundation have been active in the field giving moral and sometimes financial support to many Jamaicans. Persons are more incline to speak with a survivor based on the fact that one can relate to their situation such as accepting Chemotherapy or Radiation.
Bethon Foundation have also started an initiative dubbed ‘Hol a Bucket’ its gear towards persons who are panhandling on the nation’s street, we help them with a start -up of a bucket of juice and Ice while showing them a formula how to earn their own monies daily.
Two (2) recipients are identified monthly across Jamaica and are gifted with a bucket, our target is Twenty Four (24) persons per year.
The adage that speaks to ‘Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him a lifetime” is the theme for this initiative.

We also identify the very poor among us and try to ensure that they are fed once per month.

All this is funded by the founders at this time, we however welcome donations and sponsors.

To date we continue to support scores of Jamaicans diagnosed with cancer and those yearning for an opportunity to earn their keep in society.
